Vancouver's Forefront Communications and Winnipeg-based Credo Enter- tainment recently announced that they have decided to end the run of the series The Adventures of Shirley Holmes after four seasons. The final 13 episodes will be aired on YTV this fall.

"Shirley is a hit around the world and I hope that audiences will enjoy it for years to come" said Forefront's Helena Cynamon, who was the show's executive producer for its first three seasons. Said the show's distributor, Forefront Releasingās Mickey Rogers, "Shirley has done well on the international market. It's showing on the BBC in England and on Fox Family in the United States, as well as numerous other countries."

Credo spokesperson Kim Todd said a growth spurt in the cast was one of the key reasons for cancelling the show. She said that the aging of the young stars Meredith Henderson and John White have gone from playing an 11 and 12 year-old to playing a 15 and 16 year-old would have meant a distinct change in tone and content had the show continued.
